Green councillor Polly Gray steps in to save carbon

Our Rother Green Party Councillor Polly Gray contacted Next Retail about the lights being left on 24/7 in their empty Bexhill store and secured a promise of immediate action to turn the lights off.
Polly was advised that a member of the public had noticed that all the lights at the empty Next store at Ravenside had been left on 24/7 since the store closed in August.
Polly then contacted Next, who confirmed that they had closed the store in August and sold it to new owners. Next agreed to inform the owners that the lights need to be switched off

Cllr Gray said: “Lighting accounts for nearly five per cent of global CO2 emissions, and we are trying to reduce our carbon footprint in Rother.
